Women Development International Association (WODIA) is a
Non-Profit Organization committed to enhancing the status of
women and the family.
OUR PAST ACTIVITIES
WODIA was first initiated in 2005 executing humanitarian projects
involving care for the aged, counseling girls against prostitution,
communicating developmental programs to the less privileged
persons and assisting youths in securing employments.
WODIA's programs have been very intensive in the eradication of
Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) including HIV/AIDS. The
Association has implemented Health Enhancement and Longevity
Programs (HELP) that has curtailed teenage pregnancies,
teenage abortions, malaria, tuberculosis and maternal mortality.
Other activities involved campaign against early sexual
relationships, mobilizing support for motherless and or fatherless
children, promoting the economic well-being of indigent people
and implementing other programs that bring hope to the
hopeless, expand opportunities and enrich individuals' lives.
WODIA initiates and executes micro credit sustainability and
poverty reduction projects that led to more than 1000 indigent
people receiving micro loans with minimal bottlenecks.
OUR STATUS
The Association was formally registered in Nigeria in June 2007 as
a charitable Non-Profit Organization. The founding Chairman is
Chief (Mrs.) Olufunmilayo Egbeoluwa, a British and Nigerian
trained Communication Expert and a feminine Gender enthusiast.
She has been assisting the Federal Government of Nigeria in
communicating and promoting developmental projects to the
Nigerian populace since 1988.
WODIA is concerned with contributing to community development
and supporting the underprivileged persons.
